WHAT IS THE TIME DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NEW YORK AND ALASKA? The Alaskan Time Zone is 4 hours behind New York City. When it is 12:00 Noon in New York, it will be 8:00 AM in Alaska.
WHAT WILL THE CLIMATE BE LIKE IN JULY? Most days are very comfortable but it is important to be prepared for both cold and warm weather. Dress in layers and you should be able to enjoy Alaska whatever the weather conditions may be. Daytime highs range from 60-70 F. Nighttime lows are refreshingly cool dipping into the 40’s and 50’s. July Is one of the warmest and longest days in Alaska and will offer plenty of opportunities to enjoy active calving glaciers
WHAT TYPE OF DOCUMENTATION DO I NEED? It is the policy of Regent Seven Seas Cruises to require passports for ALL travelers regardless of guests’ nationality and ports of calls and countries visited. You must obtain and carry a valid passport to board a Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessel. Passport cards or a copy of a passport are not accepted. All U.S. citizens must travel with a passport with a validity of at least 6 months beyond their intended stay (January 11, 2013) In addition, the Canadian Government is strictly enforcing entry requirements and as a result some U.S. and Canadian citizens with past criminal records or convictions may be refused entry into Canada. Almost all convictions including petty crimes and misdemeanors may render a person inadmissible to Canada, regardless of how long ago they occurred. It is recommended that persons who have been charged in the past or who have past convictions, no matter how petty or small, obtain the necessary documents before attempting to enter Canada. Airline tickets must match the name on your passport. If you enter a nickname on your registration, you will be responsible for any change fees imposed by the air carrier. Any guest traveling without proper documentation will not be allowed to board the flight. If you hold a passport from another country please check with your embassy prior to your departure. WHAT SHOULD I PACK? Comfortable walking shoes, sunblock, lip balm, sun glasses, hat, a light compact rain coat, binoculars and a camera will come in handy. Casual, comfortable wash and wear clothing you can layer will be appropriate for daytime onboard, or ashore and consists of resort style outfits. Casual wear including shorts and jeans is not appropriate after 6:00pm. The recommended onboard dress in the evenings is Elegant Casual resort wear. Elegant Casual wear includes skirt, or slacks (no jeans) with blouse or sweater, pant suit or dress for ladies, slacks (no jeans) and collared shirt for gentlemen. Sport jackets are optional. Jeans, shorts, t-shirts, or tennis shoes are not to be worn at dinner. Ties are not required.
